Is it possible to add a spare key to 2006 Mercedes Benz CLK (W209) using XTOOL X100 Pad3 with KC501?

Devices used:
XTOOL X100 Pad3 Plus XTOOL KC501
One original car key and one new blank key
2006 Mercedes Benz CLK
What we did:
First, connect X100 Pad Elite tablet key programmer to the OBD port of vehicle via main cable, and connect to XTOOL KC501 via USB cable, then turn on the XTOOL tablet
Then, select “BENZ”-> agree with the disclaimer-> select “Infrared key system”-> “Add key”
Read the instruction of what’s going to happen and continue
Complete the following operation:
- Make sure the connection between KC501 and X100 Pad3 is proper
- Insert an original car key into the EIS and wait for 5 seconds, then remove the original car key from the EIS
Select the communication method with EIS
Next, go to read via OBD
Select “Automatic identify” and it’s come up with the info of the vehicle
It is W209 model.
Go to next step
- Insert the same original car key into the lock and wait for 5 seconds, then remove the original car key from the lock
The original car key has passed the verification, and the original car key data will be collected soon.
Read the following instruction carefully
After the data collection is completed, the original car key needs to be inserted into the lock and wait for 30 seconds, and then the car can be started normally after inserting and removing the key several times.
Then complete the following operation:
- Insert the same original car key into the infrared key slot of XTOOL KC501 key & chip programmer
Now got the password successfully
The password collection is completed, then follow the instruction above to do.
After that, write the new key file
- Input key info: just need to select the key location to be generated
- Insert a new key into KC501 infrared key slot
OK, it’s successfully written into the key
The operation is completed
Finally, insert the new key programmed into EIS to test, it starts the car normally. Check the locking function, vehicle locks and unlocks, all work!
