Today’s tutorial: hook the key programmer Xtool X100 PAD3 (same as Xtool x100 lite) up to a 2014 BMW car with CAS4+ (5M48H/1N35H) to add a new key via OBD without immo box out, note: need to make sure the network connection is normal during operation.

Prepare:

Xtool X100 PAD3

a new key & original key

Need to connect the network (Wifi connection is okay too)

Xtool X100 PAD3 add the key via OBD:

Click “Diagnosis”->Select “BMW”->Select “Match key”->Click “Back” Button

Then, you will see the vehicle info displayed on the screen, including CAS type, CAS number, VIN code, etc.

Click “OK” to continue

You can see Keys info 1-10 displayed here.

Choose an unused key position like “Key pos 10” to write data into the new key.

Click Key pos 10->”Key matching” in the bottom left of the screen-> “Requires original car key to operate.

The screen will show “Keep the original car key close to the sensing area”.

Let’s do it.

Click “OK” and the screen will show “Put the new key at car induction coil (equivalent to “sensing area”)

Click “OK”, the screen will prompt “Successful Programmed”, which means the new key is successfully programmed.

Click “OK” and we will back to the interface of “Key info”

Scroll down and we will see Key pos 10 is used now.

Click “Back” button, the screen shows ” key programming finished”.

Test the keys to see if they work normally: turn off ignition ->New key works to start the door lock -> turn on ignition -> New key works normally.
